Teqare is proud to be 100% indigenous owned and operated in Manitoba by providing engaging technology training, education, and support. Financial Betterment, City Life Skills, and Cyber Safety are issues for folks and young adults living on and off our communities here in Manitoba.

We build our personalized education content and we present it in a fun interactive environment where our participants learn important City Life Skills, Financial Betterment, and Cyber Safety. We go into some important topics like, building skills and confidence when in the city, managing money, what is interest / credit, navigating and staying safe online, cyber bullying, and scam-prevention.

Financial Excellence and City Life

This course equips participants with essential skills for managing personal finances and navigating urban life confidently. Topics include budgeting, understanding credit and interest, and making informed financial decisions. Learners will also develop city life skills like accessing services, transportation, and safety tips for thriving in an urban environment. The course fosters independence and financial stability for individuals transitioning to or living in cities.

Digital Safety and Cyber Education

This course provides participants with essential knowledge to stay safe in the digital world, focusing on online privacy, scam-prevention, and responsible use of technology. Learners will explore strategies for recognizing and avoiding cyber threats, including cyberbullying, phishing, and identity theft. Special emphasis is placed on safe online gaming practices, helping participants understand the risks of interacting in gaming communities and how to protect themselves from inappropriate behaviour, scams, and online predators. The course equips individuals with the tools to navigate social media, gaming platforms, and the internet securely and confidently.

Train the Educator: Digital Safety and Cyber Education

This course equips teachers and educators with the tools and knowledge to effectively teach digital safety and cyber education. It covers current cyber threats, safe online behaviours, and best practices for protecting privacy. Educators will learn how to guide students in recognizing dangers such as cyberbullying, phishing, and identity theft, with a special focus on the unique risks associated with online gaming. The course provides strategies for teaching safe online gaming practices, helping students understand how to navigate gaming communities responsibly and avoid scams or inappropriate interactions. By the end, educators will feel confident in preparing students for the challenges of the digital world.

Nation Innovation

Nation Innovation was founded in 2017 with a mission to empower first nation people with the latest digital literacy training available. We are proudly 100% owned by First Nation Citizens. Over the years Nation Innovation trainers have travelled to and served more than 100 nations and their citizens. It has been our privilege and honor to serve the computer training needs of thousands of individuals seeking to improve their job skills and gain access to new job opportunities. We have helped students have better access to the broader world through the internet and social media training. Our workshops are also designed to be First Nation friendly, with culturally appropriate teaching methods and materials that are sensitive to the unique needs and perspectives of different communities. We believe that this approach is essential to ensuring that our program is successful and sustainable in the long term.

Digital Literacy

Our 3-Day workshop introduces Computing Fundamentals and Essential Components, Working Knowledge of Core Skills and Advanced Understanding of Digital Literacy. The course goes over multiple topics, such as:

  • Introduction to basic computer
  • Knowledge of hardware
  • Knowledge of software
  • How to use a printer,
  • Content creation using Microsoft Word (preparing and editing various letters, office memos, minutes of meeting etc.)
  • Microsoft Excel (preparing and editing various spreadsheets, financial expenses sheets, budgets etc.)
  • Power Point (preparing and editing presentations) and Outlook (sending emails, managing calendars etc.).
  • Use of online devices
  • Social media safety aspects.

SMART Board Training for Educators

Presenter: Barry Eori

Barry Eori is a teacher who has worked with students, parents and the community for 31 years. His experiences have been with middle and senior years students. The schools Barry has worked in were a K-8(9) composition.

Barry has taught primarily In the Applied Arts areas. Academic areas such as Social Studies and Science were areas that Barry had taught in the early part of their career. Students in Barry's classes would have taken part in Problem solving design activities, computerized drafting, CNC and Laser engraving programming.
